PRECISION TAKES SHAPE.
Pattern & Tooling Capabilities
01 / Our capabilities
Precision begins with the pattern
High-quality patterns are critical to producing high-quality castings. We develop patterns from customer drawings or engineer them in-house, selecting materials to suit the complexity, production volume, and durability required for each project.
02 / Our capabilities
Pattern Design & Construction
We design and build patterns using a variety of materials to meet the specific needs of each project and production run. Pattern materials include wood, RenBoard, and aluminum. Each material offers unique advantages depending on the complexity of the part, the production volume, and the durability required for the tooling. By selecting the appropriate material for each pattern, our team ensures that the tooling performs reliably throughout the casting process while maintaining accurate part geometry.
Patterns are developed directly from customer drawings or engineered in-house when needed. This process allows our team to carefully prepare the tooling that will ultimately form the mold for each casting. High-quality patterns are critical to producing high-quality castings, as the precision and durability of the pattern directly influence the consistency of the finished parts. Talladega Foundry’s long-standing record in casting production reflects our commitment to maintaining high standards in pattern design and construction.

Pattern Storage & Tracking
Talladega Foundry assigns an identified storage location for every pattern and core box within our facility. This organized approach ensures that tooling can be efficiently located and prepared whenever it is needed for production.
All pattern locations are stored and tracked within our software system, B&L Information Systems. By maintaining detailed records of pattern and core box locations within this system, our team is able to quickly identify, retrieve, and manage tooling throughout the manufacturing process, helping to maintain efficiency and consistency in our operations.

Core Box Construction
In addition to pattern production, Talladega Foundry designs and builds core boxes that are used to create cores for castings requiring internal cavities or complex internal features. Our core boxes are constructed using several different materials, including wood, plastic, aluminum, iron, and RenBoard. These materials are selected based on the specific requirements of the core design and the production process.
By utilizing multiple core box materials, we are able to support a wide range of casting applications while maintaining the durability and dimensional consistency needed for reliable core production.
