Hunter 10 Molding Line

Talladega Foundry operates two Hunter 10 molding machines designed for producing smaller castings with high precision and repeatability. These molding systems utilize a 14” x 19” flask and are capable of producing castings ranging in weight from approximately 1 pound up to 50 pounds.

The Hunter 10 molding line supports the production of both gray iron and ductile iron across all grades, providing flexibility for a variety of casting applications. Production quantities can range from small runs consisting of only a few pieces to larger production volumes reaching thousands of pieces annually.

This molding line is supported by an automatic mold handling system that helps maintain consistent production flow and efficient handling of molds throughout the manufacturing process. The automation of mold movement and handling improves productivity while helping ensure uniformity and quality in each casting produced.

Hunter 20 Molding Line

In addition to the Hunter 10 system, Talladega Foundry operates two Hunter 20 molding machines designed to accommodate larger casting sizes and increased mold capacity. These molding systems utilize a 20” x 24” flask and produce castings ranging in weight from approximately 25 pounds to 85 pounds.

Like the Hunter 10 line, the Hunter 20 molding systems are capable of producing both gray iron and ductile iron castings in all grades. These machines support a wide range of production volumes, from small quantities to larger annual production runs that may include thousands of castings.

Each Hunter 20 molding machine is integrated with an automatic mold handling system that allows molds to move efficiently through the production process. This automated handling system helps improve workflow efficiency while maintaining consistent mold quality and production output.

Airset (No Bake) Molding

For larger castings and specialized production requirements, Talladega Foundry utilizes the Airset (No Bake) molding process. This process uses floor and loop molding systems with various flask sizes to accommodate larger molds and casting designs.

The Airset molding process is capable of producing castings ranging from approximately 75 pounds up to 3,000 pounds. This system supports the production of both gray iron and ductile iron in all grades, providing the flexibility needed for larger or more complex castings that may not be suitable for automated molding lines.

By utilizing floor and loop molding methods with multiple flask sizes, the Airset process allows Talladega Foundry to adapt to a variety of casting requirements while maintaining quality and production consistency.
